This section provides an introduction to search techniques. The vast size of the Internet means that effective searching is a basic necessity.
There are a lot of search engines, and none of them is perfect. In an ideal world, only one would be necessary as it would index all web references and search in a fast and efficient manner. Unfortunately this is not the case, and each current search "engine", as these tools are called, enables you to search only part of the web.
It is worth carrying out the same search with different search engines to compare results, which may be surprisingly different.
