Workshops

WELL workshops were organised on demand at various locations around the United Kingdom. The sessions targeted staff of all abilities, for example in terms of Web skills, and experience in using the Web in their teaching. Where an institution had specific requirements, workshops were tailored to address them.

During the period January 1999 to July 2001 just under 900 participants attended Well Workshops.

Workshops typically covered
  • a brief introduction to the World Wide Web,
  • a review of basic Web skills,
  • a hands-on discovery of Web-based resources for language learning and teaching,
  • a discussion about integration of Web resources into the curriculum,
  • a practical introduction to Web authoring.
The materials used in these sessions may be worked through on-line at Workshop resources or at a face-to-face session
